Groundlessness
PHOTOGRAPHY, 2017 -2018
Groundlessness was conceived alongside the video works WÄ›ndìng Fánróng and In Tandem (currently in post-production), created in 2017 during art residencies in Hong Kong and Taipei. The project was further developed in Kuala Lumpur in the summer of 2018, during a three-month residency at the Kuala Lumpur Architecture Festival.

Filmed entirely with a drone, the work explores perception through a disembodied and remote-controlled gaze *. By twisting and multiplying viewpoints, Groundlessness reveals new forms of visuality that question stability, orientation, and the politics of the aerial image.
Photographs from the series were commended by the jury of the 2018 Sony World Photography Awards in the Architecture category and featured in the accompanying exhibition at Somerset House, London.
